WHAT IF I CAN'T COME TO THE DISTILLERY? CAN YOU MAIL IT TO ME?
Manufacturing spirits is complicated with federal and state regulations. Texas has a three-tier system for selling alcohol, meaning it is distilled, distributed, and sold in retail stores/bars, each by different and unaffiliated organizations.
To protect the interests of the 2nd and 3rd tier, distillers are only allowed to sell two large bottles per person, within a 30 day period. By federal law, we are not able to ship spirits in state or across state lines. Texas liquor laws are in need of modernization. Recently, Texas passed updates benefiting breweries, and wineries have had advances in recent years, but distilling is still a new industry for this state and we are hoping our legislators will recognize the economic benefit to businesses like ours, as well as consumer demands, and make changes. Until then, we will operate within their regulations. |
